At Queen of Cleans, we’ve always believed that our work goes beyond cleaning homes — it’s about showing up for our community in meaningful ways. This July, as part of our "Clean for a Cause" campaign, we’re proud to stand with those impacted by domestic and family violence by supporting the life-saving work of Coast Shelter.
Understanding Domestic Violence in Australia
Domestic and family violence affects 1 in 4 women and 1 in 14 men in Australia. It’s a silent crisis that often goes unseen — happening behind closed doors, across all ages, backgrounds, and communities.
The effects are long-lasting, and the road to safety and recovery is never easy. For many, finding the strength to leave is just the beginning. What follows is the need for safe housing, emotional support, legal aid, financial guidance, and access to essentials — things many of us may take for granted.
That’s where incredible organisations like Coast Shelter come in.
About Coast Shelter
Coast Shelter is a not-for-profit charity based on the Central Coast that has been supporting people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, and family crisis for over 30 years. They operate nine crisis accommodation sheltersand provide over 50,000 free meals each year through their community centre.
Their services include:
Emergency and transitional housing
Domestic and family violence support services
Community meal programs
Outreach services and case management
Pathways to long-term independence and safety
Every dollar and donation helps give someone the dignity, safety, and second chance they deserve.
Our Commitment
Throughout the month of July, Queen of Cleans will be donating $5 from every clean directly to Coast Shelter. It’s our way of giving back and helping create a safer community — one clean, one act of kindness, one family at a time.
In addition to financial support, we’re using our platform to:
Raise awareness through social media and educational content
Share local stories and facts about domestic violence
Provide helpful resources and support line information to our clients and staff
Encourage open conversations around mental health, safety, and healing
You Can Help Too
If you would like to contribute beyond your clean, we encourage you to visit coastshelter.org.au to learn more about their services, donate, or get involved.
And if you or someone you know needs help, support is available through 1800RESPECT (1800 737 732) — a 24/7 confidential support line.
Together, we can clean with purpose.Let’s make this July about more than just homes — let’s help restore hope, safety, and dignity for those who need it most.
